The letters were written by North Koreans during the Korean War.
They were seized by the U.S. Army at a post office in the Fall, 1950 and are now held at the U.S. National Archives.
The letters were re-enacted by South Korean youth.
The letters to family, friends and their loved ones describe people’s lives and emotions under the war from a first-hand perspective, resonating with contemporary audiences crossing the border of South and North Korea.
